Halfway there, Theta Zeta!!
Good evening Theta Zeta!! I apologize for how late the newsletter is going up this week. Find it in your hearts to forgive me!!
Next chapter is mid-semester evaluations, so PLEASE bring your laptops to chapter to fill them out
Mental Health Minute
This week, Kayla shared the mental health minute with the chapter. She talked about how important organization is in keeping her on top of her classes, work, and other responsibilities. Narrowing large tasks into smaller tasks helps to break up the big task into more manageable pieces, not to mention how good it feels when you get to cross something off a list as completed. Other things Kayla mentioned included using sticky notes, coloring coding your notebooks/planners/LIFE, and writing yourself encouraging notes to find later to keep your spirits up when you are stressed out or overwhelmed.
Relay Update
As of Monday night, we reached over 2/3 of our total fundraising goal!! This total is without any official fundraising events factored in yet. Huge congratulations to everyone raising money for our team. Keep up the great work!!
Current total: $10,006
Goal: $15,000
If you want to dedicate a Luminaria at Relay for $10, you can order one through the Relay for Life website. You can dedicate them to a loved one lost, someone currently battling, or anyone who’s overcome cancer. It’s our way of showing that there’s a light, even in darkness. The hour where the Luminaria's are lit and we walk around the track in the candlelight is very moving, so we encourage people who want to buy one to do so.
Service
-Service wants to remind everyone that we are halfway through the semester at this point, so everyone should be about halfway done their service hours. If you are not, you should be expecting an email reminder from service to start signing up for events. With that being said, bros who have 20 service hours should NOT be signing up for capped events like Echo Thrift Shop or Waysmeet so people who are trying to get all their hours done can do so!!
-If you are signed up for any admitted students day events, you will be getting credit for all the hours you are there, not just one hour. However you must be sure to email service at the service email with the length of your shift so you can be properly credited.
-Sign up for walking hours at Relay!!
