Nom-Nom-Nominations!!

Good evening, my bros!! I hope everyone had a fantastic Monday. I have an ~exam~ to study for, so I'm just going to dive right in.

First, I just wanted to congratulate Brianna and Sam on doing such a fantastic job running Retreat this past weekend. Even though I couldn't make it, the FOMO was *real* looking at all the posts about how cool, fun, and interesting all the events were on our social media pages. You guys dedicated so much time and effort into the weekend, and it clearly showed!!

Also, special shoutout to everyone who was nominated for exec positions tonight! Whether you are an exec-board veteran or first time nominee, you are amazing for even considering taking a leadership role in our chapter, and you truly exemplify our values of LFS!

*Business casual means no jeans, no leggings, no sweatpants, no flip flops, etc. Dress to impress!!

-The Banquet award nominations ends TONIGHT, so make sure to submit your suggestions here.

-Buy your Banquet tickets here or at the MUB ticket office. Make sure they attach your name to the purchase! They are $15 per ticket.

-The 5k being hosted by UVM in memory of Nikisha Falcone, a brother who died of suicide last semester in their chapter, will be on May 4th. If you cannot attend the 5k at UVM, there will also be a virtual 5k you can participate in. For more information, check out the Facebook event.

Katie Baker talked to our chapter about the Women's Studies program she is a part of. Women's Studies makes a great major/minor because it has classes that satisfy four discoveries, a staff that is friendly and approachable, and an opportunity to really be exposed to experimental learning. Getting a minor in Women's Studies only require 5 classes, so it is definitely something to look into! If you have any questions, you can email womens.studies@unh.edu.

Relay Update

Mental Health Minute

-Thank you to Cam for sharing the mental health minute this week!

-Cam discussed the importance of finding time to relax and do things you enjoy doing, like listening to music or playing your favorite video game. Doing so can help you refocus on what you are doing and have a better attitude about it.

-I actually did this today!! I was feeling overwhelmed and needed to take a little break for my sanity. I decided to eat some fruit and watch an episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Before I knew it, I was laughing along with the episode, and I was in much better spirits to tackle the rest of my day.

Alright everyone, I'm signing off!! I hope you all have a wonderful week. Please try to keep in mind your mental health. The end of the semester is approaching rapidly, and I know the end comes quickly, assignments pile up, and the stress can seem unsurmountable. but you can do it!! Take time for yourself, like Cam suggested. Go for walk, meditate, hug a dog, anything you need to do to keep yourself happy. If you mental health suffers, it is likely your schoolwork will suffer, too. Take care of yourself!!!! That's all for my little soapbox speech.

LFS,

Molly

PS - if you read all the way to here, email me your favorite service project and fellowship you've done this semester for a little treat :)
